Proper Hand-washing Technique

During this pandemic, it’s important to wash your hands and practice proper hygiene techniques. This is the proper way to wash your hands:

🔸 Wet hands with running water.

🔸 Apply enough soap to cover hands.

🔸 Scrub all surfaces of the hands (front, back, between fingers and under nails) for at least 20 seconds (try singing ‘Happy Birthday’ for a good amount of time).

🔸 Rinse thoroughly with running water.

🔸 Dry hands using a clean cloth or single use-towel.

This routine should ensure that the virus is eliminated from your hands! You should be washing your hands after blowing your nose or sneezing, coughing, after visiting public spaces, touching un-clean surfaces or money, and before and after eating!

Other tips to avoid the spread of germs include: using proper sneezing and coughing etiquette (into your elbow), avoid touching your face and practice social distancing! Wearing a mask when in public spaces that fits properly, covering your nose and mouth, will also help keep you and others safe!
