Why should I see a chiropractor?

Chiropractic is an evidence based, hands-on health care discipline which focuses on the musculoskeletal system, by treating and preventing disorders which affect it. The primary focus of chiropractic care is to restore the functional integrity of your body’s spine, joints, nerves and muscles through manual adjustments of joints and muscles. Chiropractic care aims to reduce pain and restore function as well as promote health and improvement of quality of life.

Chiropractors can treat a wide range of ailments of the musculoskeletal system including but not limited to: back and neck pain, strains, sprains, arthritis, headaches, work/sport injuries and postural dysfunctions and more!

I am proud to be an evidence-based practitioner, which means that I fully understand your needs, preferences and values and apply the correct clinical treatments based on the newest-evidence research. While I am proficient in manipulations, I also use other therapies such as muscle release therapy, instrument assisted soft tissue therapy, exercise prescription as well as other modalities to allow for a well-rounded experience.

During the first appointment, I take time to listen to your concerns during a thorough history in which I will dive into details of your chief complaint as well as your past medical history and lifestyle to get a better overall picture of your complete health.

After getting all of the details of your concerns, an in-depth physical exam will take place where I will try to determine the cause of the concern. This may include; checking your vitals, postural analysis, gait analysis, range of motion testing, muscle testing, orthopaedic testing, neurologic testing as well as palpation of muscles and joint.

Following the history and physical, I will determine a diagnosis and take the time to fully explain my findings and answer any questions or concerns you may have. I will provide you with a detailed treatment plan, tailored to you and your needs and give you any recommendations I may have. Treatment is then offered based on the plan that was developed!
