Ice Vs. Heat

A lot of people like to ask which is better for my pain, ice or heat?


Heat is great for chronic pain and muscle soreness. It can help increase blood flow, promote relaxation, soothe tight muscles, reduce pain and help restore movement.


Ice is best for acute injuries or sudden pain. It can help relieve inflammation, reduce swelling and redness, reduce blood flow, lessen bruising and helps numb pain.

Heat is best used for conditions like muscle aches, arthritis, chronic pain and joint and muscle stiffness. Ice is best for conditions like sprains, strains, new injuries and swelling.


Quick tip: Remember if it’s hot and swollen use ice, if it feels tight use heat!
